Vegetables

Many vegetables are grown in the United Kingdom. Local markets such as the one in the centre of Birmingham will sell many of them at the appropriate time of the year. Some are not quite so common but are often grown in peoples gardens. In this country some people have a small piece of land close to their home. They rent the land (often from the Council)to grow vegetables. This land is usually called an allotment.
